Southeast corner of Hollywood and Vine

The three tall buildings on the corner of Hollywood and Vine represented a visual center of Hollywood in the 1920's and 1930's. The Taft, Equitable, and Dyas buildings are known primarily for their large size during the time period they were constructed. All three buildings are currently used as office buildings. Built in 1923 by architects Walker Eisen. This building was designed in the Renaissance Revival style for the Taft family, which came to Hollywood in the 1890s as ranchers. It was the first building on the Boulevard built to the maximum 150 foot height limit.Currently owned by Meringoff Equities Inc, which owns over 25 percent of the commercial office space in Hollywood.
